NAC (UK), [Nnewi Advancement Charity (UK)] was formed by a few Nnewi Patriots and philanthropists resident in United Kingdom in 2002.It was formally registered April 2003 by Charity Commission for England and Wales.
Main Objectives of our Charity are:
- The advancement of education of children in Nnewi Town, Nigeria;
- The preservation and protection of health of the Nnewi community in the UK and Nigeria;
Thankfully, Nnewi North local government subsequently allocated this Charity a piece of land within the headquarters to build a permanent site in March 2018. Soon after, we commenced building work on our purpose built health centre which is being commissioned on, 4th January 2020.
In keeping with our main objective, the Charity established a “Health and Information Advisory Centre” at Nnewi on December 2007, commissioned jointly by Igwe Nnewi and the Commissioner for health Anambra State, Prof Ilika
- This clinic is staffed by Nurses and Doctor and opens all day, Monday to Saturday.
- In the last 10 years since commissioned, over thirty thousand patients (30,000) have been treated entirely free of charge
- The running cost of the clinic is borne by voluntary contributions of members of the charity and supporters.
We celebrated the 10 years anniversary of this unique project on 2nd January 2018 at Conv-Aj Hotel.
During this celebration we raised awareness of the existence of this free clinic to Nnewi citizens and residents to avail themselves of the services of the clinic to help them protect and preserve their health particularly with regards to high blood pressure and Diabetes Mellitus and also solicited the morale and financial support of Nnewi stake holders and philanthropists to enable us sustain and expand the project.
